Laminate is still one of the most inexpensive surfaces in the countertop market. Although most people are trying to replace their old laminate countertops these days with new Quartz of Granite countertops, their is still a market for cheap laminate.

On top of the leader board in the world of laminates is Wilsonart. Although most people refer to their laminate countertop as "Formica", most laminate in the world is provided by Wilsonart. They recently have come out with a line of laminate colors called HD. The HD or "High-Def" color palette has been crafted to mirror the look of natural stone. Obviously there are some downfalls to a laminate countertop but if it is just a look and a price you are looking for than this surface may be the right choice.
